Separation of Church and State

The Philippine Constitution says there shall be a separation of the church and state. This statement is very self-explanatory. But, look what's happening now. The church meddles in the affairs of the government. In the papers, whenever the church talks, they are put as headlines. Why can't the church just take charge of saving the souls of people that they don't go to the purgatory or hell? There a lot of things the church have to look into, like giving Bible classes giving Sunday classes to children of church parishioners so that these children may know bible stories and passages. The Catholic church seem to neglect the fact that for people to have more chances of becoming morally upright, the teachings shall have to start from the formative years. Instead of neglecting the kids noise who wander around the church as the church service is being held, why can't these children be gathered in one place in the church and be given sunday classes?

If I may just give my OWN opinion to this somewhat 'intriguing' issue *wink*. I agree with the separation of church and state, but if the state is passing laws that will affect morality, I don't see anything wrong with the church getting in its way. To me its not meddling but still helping to 'save souls' in the process. I believe that church and state should be helping each other without stepping on each other's toes ;-) That's my 2 cents worth opinion ;-)

I'd be happy to xlinks with you, pls leave all your urls in my tagboard and here are mine.
