Space-saver Automobile

The current trend in the modern world goes for "smaller" objects.  The smaller the object, the hippier.  Take for instance the sound system, the flash drive, the music player and many others.  It seems that everything in the world can be compacted while serving the same purpose, and far more better than its old replica.

But not, with the multicab i rode on my way home similar to the one above.  It was a 12-capacity cab: two seats in the front, intended for the driver and one front passenger and ten seats behind. The ten seats are arranged at 5 seats to the left and 5 on the right, facing each other. There were ten medium-built passengers behind. Because there was a very limited space, the passengers knees touch each other.  I breath on my nose so as not to expand my chest. My hands were clasped together for lack of mobility space. I contend with my slanting position so as not to rub my knees further with the man infront of me. Thanks heavens, there were passengers who alighted after a kilometer away. I was able to breath freely, at last.

Small cars like the one above are fuel efficient and space savers.  However, passengers convenience are sacrificed. If i will complain, i might hear a retort like "Why not use your own car?" Oh yeah, why can't i?  The answer is fast and simple, i dont have a car, yet.

Black Friday 2008 Promo Specials

Shopping has never been a fun then.  Going to the stores, malls, hardwares for housewares, furnitures, clothings, shoes, jewelries  and other personal items was always a big sacrifice. Pushing the trolly and waiting behind a long queue of customers in the paying counter makes another bloat of painful varicose veins on the legs.  What a relief it was, with the advent of internet and modern technology gadgets.

Months ago, i found a website that offer comfortability and convenience in shopping.  And not just comfort but it offers the best value of one's money.  The site is http://www.black-friday.net. This a Black Friday website, and it offers a lot of svaings when shopping for Christmas by buying items during Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving. This year around, they have this  2008 thanksgiving specials.

From among the store list this website have, i recently got big savings when i purchased at AceHardware.com. For this year's shopping needs, i will surely take opportunity of their promo offer again especially to buy stuffs for the coming Christmas and to save a lot of money.

My Sons Play Basketball

My two sons are presently in the basketball craze.  I went home today and saw them both in their uniforms playing basketball with other boys in the neighborhood.  Obviously, it was a sportsfest hosted by my elder son and his contemporaries.

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five active players each try to score points against one another by propelling a ball through a 10 feet (3 m) high hoop (the goal) under organized rules. Points are scored by shooting the ball through the basket above; the team with more points at the end of the game wins. The ball can be advanced on the court by bouncing it (dribbling) or passing it between teammates. Disruptive physical contact (fouls) is not permitted and there are restrictions on how the ball can be handled (violations).

I have observed that they have adopted a strategic plan for their members.  The tallest members of a team plays center, the shortest members plays "point guard" and the best ball handlers are guards. My two sons play in different teams.  The elder plays center in one team and the younger plays as guard in the other team. They both play well.  Hmm, i suppose mother's gene's works on them.

Viral Damage to Computers

Antivirus on one's computer is very necessary. And most, if one is accessing the internet every now and then.  Viruses like worms and trojans go along with some opened and viewed files.  If one does not have an antivirus installed, there is the tendency for the connection to slow down and worst of all, the computer may just bog down.

The antivirus in my computer have always detected worms. Recently it detected a trojan virus in the game downloaded by my son.  I had the file contaminated with trojan virus deleted.  But i can't be so sure if the virus is still in some of my files.  I need to have my computer reformatted as i noticed lately that it is slowing down. Plus, i need to update the antivirus as something keeps on popping up that my antivirus is blacklisted already.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases Testing

Sexually active people especially those who are infidel to one sex partner only have a big risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases.  This poses a high danger of alarm if one who has STD does not know that he has one and keeps on spreading the disease indeliberately.  STD testing is now available in a more private way. For individuals who may have been engaged in sexual activities other than their partners or for individuals who may have partners who are known to have made some "moonlighting", it is better to be sure of your health status. Simply click on http://www.tstd.org and get yourself tested.

Parental Responsibility for Schooling of Children

Sending children to school and affording them proper education to prepare them for a good future is a parental responsibility. This is just one of the basic needs parents should give to their children. I just don't know why some parents are bereft of this moral responsibility over their children. I have a househelp now and her age is just 13 years old. I pity her coz her mother insisted that she works with me. In dire need of a househelp i accepted her.  But i am thinking now if i could send her to night school classes so she can continue her schooling.  I can't understand why there are parents who do not sense an obligation over their siblings.  I guess, they should be reminded by the government by way of laws to make them responsible parents.

SugarCRM Effective System Integration

Business world is a fast changing and challenging commercial arena. Every now and then, innovations shall have to be adopted especially in managing software applications and services. One shall have to design a software that develops good customer relations towards the company. SugarCRM is a product that is installed, maintained and managed by Corratech, which is an open-source software consultant.  At www.coratech.com a company can be assured of  an open-source solution as compared to a proprietary solution that one can buy from MicroSoft or other large software companies.

WHAT TIME OF DAY ARE YOU?

You Are Sunrise

You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary.

You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward.

Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts.

All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be.

I got interested to answer this quiz in Marie's La Place de Cherie blog. True enough, this explains the real me.  Anyone who is interested, may try to take this quiz, too.

Separation of Church and State

The Philippine Constitution says there shall be a separation of the church and state. This statement is very self-explanatory. But, look what's happening now. The church meddles in the affairs of the government. In the papers, whenever the church talks, they are put as headlines. Why can't the church just take charge of saving the souls of people that they don't go to the purgatory or hell? There a lot of things the church have to look into, like giving Bible classes giving Sunday classes to children of church parishioners so that these children may know bible stories and passages. The Catholic church seem to neglect the fact that for people to have more chances of becoming morally upright, the teachings shall have to start from the formative years. Instead of neglecting the kids noise who wander around the church as the church service is being held, why can't these children be gathered in one place in the church and be given sunday classes?

AN APPEAL TO MOTHER NATURE

Mother Nature was kind to give a good weather in my work station today. The sun did not shine through the whole day. There was a partly cloudy skies and the air was cool. In contrast, as i went home, i learned that it had been raining in neighboring towns and in my place here in Tacloban. I pray that Mother Nature will be kind again later today, as we will be having outdoor competitions in my work assignment as a part of the leadership and teambuilding activities in the training i am managing for the youth leaders.

One Laptop Per Child

Wow, what a news! XO Laptops are being developed now in the US at a taget price of $75 as a tool for better learning and to make the device far more affordable for purchase by developing nations.

The laptops will be a compact notebook size and with sufficient memory for storing up to 500 e-books. Wow, for 75$ laptop i could buy two or three for my kids. My kids are so excited to have their own laptop. But, i just wonder what kind of hardwares can be installed in a 75$ laptop? Well, it remains to be seen.

Fight Against Poverty through Access to Potable Water

Water is a necessity in every household. I am speaking here of potable water, that is, safe for drinking. The scarcity of potable drinking water in households bring about chain of negative effects to mankind like poverty and health problems. During the United Nations Summit, one millenium development goal the country representatives of the United Nations vowed to address was to eliminate poverty and hunger. Poverty and hunger is a global problem. The members of the United Nations decided to collectively fight this widespread problem as against solving it singlehandedly by each affected nation. Corollarily, potable water problem is directly related, among many possible interventions, to eradicate poverty and hunger.

In the Philippines, the Philippine Agenda of the present Administration allocated a substantial amount of money to provide access to potable water in every household, even up to the remotest areas of the nation. There are grants and subsidies from the United Nations granted to the national and local government units here to aid in providing accesible potable water. It is expected that in the few years to come, incidences of water related health problems will be lowered if not eliminated mostly from people in the hinterlands.

Why are you Greeted Happy Birthday When you Dress Red?

In the Philippines expect, when you go around wearing red, to be greeted Happy Birthday!. Why is this so?

I remember having worn a red shirt that i was greeted a Happy Birthday by more than two individuals. I took it seriously and retorted immediately that they are wrong. Later, i came to know that wearing red connotes a dress worn by birthday celebrants.

Tracing back the culture of red, in some cultures, red denotes celebration. Red is the color of happiness and prosperity in China and may be used to attract good luck.Red is often the color worn by brides in the East while it is the color of mourning in South Africa.

So this explains it. The next time that you will be greeted happy birthday by people you will meet along the way and it is not your birthday, simply shrug it off and smile.

Artificial Plants and Trees for all Occasions

Plants bring life and color to homes, plazas, stage, function rooms and anywhere else. These places can be so dull and unlively without plants. Real plants are beautiful adornments but, however, the time and effort in its maintainance would mean a lot. For busy people like me, i shall have somebody to take my stead in watering my plants. Because i have none, most of my plants withered and died because they dried up. My once beautiful spot in the backyard planted to many plants and trees became bare and the plants dwindled to a fewer number. It is frustrating, whenever i get time for my plants, to see them dead and withered.

I can now avoid being frustrated. At www.artificialplantsandtrees.com, a variety of faux silk plants, and trees can be bought. The faux trees are created using quality materials designed to look real. They have a very real look and last very long unlike their real counterparts. Silk flowers are also sold to make a good gift for any occasion.

I find these artificial plants a good subsitute for real plants. If i get to buy them, I can avoid having allergies to pollen particles present in plants and i wont be sneezing when some plants are placed indoors.  Secondly, i can avoid being frustrated over withering and dead plants because artificial plants and trees need no more watering.

Political Campaigns in the guise of Service or Product Advertisements

Calendar year 2010 is yet far, but political advertisements bring 2010 near. A political exercise in 2010 is the main reason. Advertisements over the television and radio are obviously being swarmed by political aspirants for presidency and senatorship. At this early, this is publicity on their persona. Either they pose as endorsers of products or they promote government programs.

I just wonder if the spending for these publicities are pocketed out of their own money or out of the coffins of the government. They are spending millions for advertisements. How i wish they would instead give the money to the needy, to the disadvanataged sectors of this society, who are victims of corruption in this part of the country.

Temper Tantrums

Children often have temper tantrums when they are frustrated, want attention, or to get their own way. They tend to get more tantrums when they are tired, hungry or sick. My sons have their tantrums, too and when they do i usually go to my room and let time cool down my temper, too.

As a single parent, i learned that when my sons have tantrums i should stay calm. Getting angry doesn't help but prolong their tantrums instead. I dont like them to know that i have lost my control so i go to my room. After awhile i talk to them and try to know what tiggered the tantrums. It is indeed hard to be a parent. But, i know that i should not let tantrums change my behavior as a parent. I don't like them to learn that a tantrum is a way to get their own way.

Independent Financial Advise

Public service requires one to render public serive until the age of 65, which is the mandatory retirement. I have already rendered public service for almost 18 years now. A few more years and i can already retire. Most of my officemates are retiring. Most of them plan to invest in a profitable business venture and they would deposit their money in the bank. I figure it out that they need to be so careful in betting their money on such ventures. If i were them i would seek professional or a comprehensive service that would ensure me financial security.

They need not worry. At www.sourceifa.co.uk, there is an  Independent Financial Advice company that can assist with Investment and Pension Fund Management, School Fees Solutions because it's important to maintain an equitable and balanced financial profile. Other services inlude School Fees Solutions, , Wealth Management, Protection and Mortgages and advise in areas such as tax treatment, charges and investment returns.

I would convince my officemates  to look upon this site on sourceifa. They would for sure ensure their future in here.

My Blogging Blues

I barely experienced the radiant shine of PPP over my blog. One day, i noticed the raining opportunites on my blog from PPP. Never felt so ecstatic with blogging than that time. Rosemarie told me to check on my blog's page rank. Alas, it was a heart throbbing PR3.  I was soaring in cloud 9 then.    But, no sooner than this ecstatic feeling was seeping through my nerves, i checked on my dashboard one day.  I thought i died, when i saw PR 0 on my google's page rank.  How could dawn move fast to twilight?  Why? Why? and Why?  I asked PPP, myself, and friends, why?  Have i done infractions to PPP? I felt so neglected.  Opportunites were rare after that, they go higher and lower, but, without anything for me.  What a sad plight over my blog.  I know PPP have a big heart for bloggers, like me.  I hope PPP opportunities will tip toe their ways back again to my blog.

Sheer Miracle to a Woman With Three Hearts

It is a very amusing news i had ever heard over the media today.  A woman named Leanne Nicholson has had no fewer than three hearts.  The first was her original heart, and two transplanted hearts.  She was born with a normal conditioned  heart.  When she reached 12 years old her heart was attacked by a virus, which attacked the muscle tissues of her heart.  The damage to the heart was so intense, she had been transplanted with a heart coming from a young woman who died of head injury.  The heart transplant proved to be successful until 14 months after, her body system rejected the transplanted heart as her body recognized it as a foreign tissue. Her body started to seizure so powerfully that even the strongest immuno-suppressive drugs did not work. Another heart transplant was conducted, this time it was from a 35-year old man from London who died in a car accident. Leanne is now 18 years old and she is making a steady recovery.

God's miracle is working through Leanne.  I wish for her complete recovery.

Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo's Wedding Revelations

I am fan of Judy Ann Santos, a famous local actress in the Philippines.  She is one of my idols in drama anthologies.  She acts super naturally.  In heavy dramas, comedy movies, action, and soap operas she is the best for me.  Her professionalism towards her dedication to work is unsurpassed. Her feet are still "rooted to the ground" despite her accomplishments.  She started in the Philippine movies when she was a child and since then she has honed her skills to the optimum.

Her love affair with Ryan Agoncillo was a happy news to me.  I like Ryan Agoncillo because he hails from a reputable family and is known to have close family ties.  I did not like Juday, as she is known of, to suffer a broken marriage shall they prosper later to go into marriage. She deserves to be happy with the right man.

Luckily, i have heard over the TV that they have revealed an upcoming plan to marry.  I am happy for both of them.  The are both lucky to have found each other.  May their marriage be one that is heavenly blessed.

Frontier Movie in Theaters and DVDs

I am an avid fan of horror movies.  Recently i watched, along with my kids, the Frontier(s) movie trailer at www.frontiersunrated.com. I can tell that it is really a very fantastic movie, an action- thriller packed entertainment.  The plot is breathtaking. The frontier(s) movie has been showed on May 9 and is still showing in favorite movie theaters.  If you want to view the movie, well, it isn't late.  Try to view from  select theater listings, and check on the nearest theater near you and the time where you can view the complete showing of the movie.  However, if you really can not make it due to more pressing matters, grab a DVD of the movie Frontier, which will be released starting May 13.

Watch Frontier and witness this very controversial movie of the year.  It has uncut scenes of the movie.  Most of all, be triggered why behind its being an unrated movie, it still went to the theaters unlike most unrated movies.

I can't wait to grab a DVD of this movie so i can watch at home with my kids. How about you? Enjoy and relax and see a movie, watch Frontier.

TRIBUTE TO MOTHERS

Today is Mother's Day. I received a lot of greetings from kids, relatives and friends here and abroad. I am so grateful for the well wishers. Lucky are those whose mothers are alive. I am equally lucky, too because my mother still shines her guiding light through me and my kids. To her, i write this tribute:

A woman has strengths that amaze men.
She can handle troubles and carry heavy burdens.
She holds happiness, love and opinions.
She smiles when she feels like screaming.
She sings when she feels like crying.
Cries when she's happy and laughs when she's afraid.
Her hand molds children's future.
She suffers in silence for the sake of the family.
Her love is unconditional.
MOTHER, YOU ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD!

I would like to share this tribute to all the mothers out there especially to Rosemarie, AiDisan,Joy, Liza and Marilyn.

If you are interested to sell your stuff, it is convenient if you visit your nearest iSold store for faster accomodation.  Likewise, selling of your staff locally would benefit buyers who live within or nearby your place.  This is one of the nicest things i have read about online selling and buying.  Folks, why don't yout start rummaging through your stuff which are still worth selling and look for your nearest iSoldit store?  ISoldit is the leading eBay drop-off chain with stores open across the U.S. and in other countries around the world. Enjoy selling!

May 8 Tolosa Fiesta

Tolosa celebrated its annual fiesta on May 8 in honor of the patron saint, St. Michael.  As is the traditional way of starting the day, a pontifical mass highlighted the day's occasion.  Most fiesta goers would attend mass first before going to the house for lunch at their preferred host house. There are some, though, who don't bother to attend the mass but go directly to the host house to eat and or drink.

Business went as usual in the municipal government of Tolosa.  It was a holiday for many who are celebrating the fiesta, and a working day for employees whose fiesta is outside May 8.    This is in contrast with Tacloban City because if it is fiesta day, all offices celebrate holiday, too and employees take their day off.

It was like a fiesta inside the municipal government offices as there were lots of food given by employees hosting the fiesta.  The employees and clients partake of the food, a once in a year sharing of the blessings received from the Almighty.

DILEMMA on Posting Requirements

Received two emails already about PPP's rejection over my post on IZEAs Social Spark.

The first time, i edited the mentioned post and i resubmitted it.  Then came again another email notifying me and i quote:" . . . Hi, Thanks for the post! we are unable to approve this post as the advertiser is requesting to disclose in the post itself, which you do not have in your post! Please fix it up and resubmit. "  Both emails contained the same message.

I could not decipher what it  meant.  The message is rather vague to me.  I dont know with you readers if you understand it.  Anyway, as i was waiting for the reply to the ticket i sent to PPP customer support, i reviewed my post regarding my signing up with social spark.  In a split second, my eyes saw the answer to the dilemma at hand.  I quote this from my post " . . There are code of ethics bloggers have to abide with. Social spark enjoins bloggers to subject their blog to post disclosures . . . "  Ah, so maybe what they meant was I shall have to paste my disclosure policy on my post.  Anyway, i pasted the disclosure on my post.  If this will not be approved this time by PPP, i don't know already what to do.  I will wait for their reply to my ticket, though, and  i am sure to be enlightened with it for my future posts.

I am crossing my fingers that i did it right already.  To anyone out there who have experienced the same dilemma, i pose this question, DID I DO THE RIGHT THING ON MY POST? Please apprise me by posting it under my COMMENTS.

Fruit Nutritional Values

May is the month of flowers.  It is a month of fruits, too.  In the Philippines, tropical fruits are exported abroad.  Mango, pineapple, banana, avocado and papaya are commonly the variety fruits available during the month of May.  I know that a lot of you eat these fruits frequently and so i elaborate here these fruits nutritional values.

Mango is the national fruit of the Philippines. It is called the "food of the gods" in the Hindu Vedas and the leaves are ritually used for floral decorations at Hindu marriages and religious ceremonies.

The mango is an excellent nutritional source, containing many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, as well as enzymes such as magneferin and lactase which aid in digestion and intestinal health. The mango is rich in provitamin A and carbohydrates and is an acceptable source of vitamin C. Don't you know that in some parts of southeast Asia and the Muslim world it is used as a supplement for sexual potency?

Pineapple is high in fiber. It also contains good amounts of vitamin C, potassium, manganese, and a digestive enzyme called bromelain. Fresh pineapple is the perfect ending to a dinner because its enzymes aid digestion.  The pineapple is also rich carbohydrates and is a good source of calcium, phosphorus, iron, and thiamine.

Banana is a good source of vitamins A, B, and C and riboflavin.  It has the highest calorie content. It is low in protein and fat and rich in potassium. Easy to digest, it constitutes an excellent food for young and old alike and is recommended for athletes.

The papaya has high quantities of vitamins C and A as well as potassium and calcium. It is low in carbohydrates.Papaya pulp is a good addition to a marinade because its beneficial enzyme, papain, is a meat tenderizer. It is a recommended fruit to people with digestive problems.

Pick your choice of fruit now and remember their nutritional value.

Games of Olden Times

What sports are we gonna play starting on Sunday afternoon during the Sportsfest of the youth leaders in Tolosa? A list was generated and we came up with ballgames like basketball and volleyball. Track and field will also be included. What else? Yeah, traditional games, those which were played by our ancestors then. This way aside from the sportsfest aim to promote the camaraderie of the youth leaders, the sports and culture of filipinos that is becoming extinct will be preserved and promoted.  Traditonal sports and games here have recently been overtaken with the modernization of technologies where children do not play outdoor games anymore but rather stay indoor to play computer games.  Promoting the traditional games would at least bring the past to these future leaders of the country.

Incredible Weight Loss

An officemate i met during our conference this morning was noticeably looking in great shape and trimmer than she was before. Incredibly, she lost a lot of pounds on her weight. The tummy, which use to bulge before is flat and lean now. I could still remember during our training how we laugh at her when she narrated having been called to the office of the training director because she was suspected of being preggy. Preggy ladies were not allowed to undergo that training. We did not meet for only about 4 months and she got that total bodylift Everybody was surprised and when asked, we learned that she is into bodybuilding. She goes to the gym everyday, and with proper diet and nutrition she is now in perfect shape. Nothing is impossible really. For me, i will not need it this time yet, maybe soon when my tummy bulges like a preggy.

IZEA Social Spark

There is a recent website development from IZEA PayPerpost called IZEA Social Spark. It works beneficiallly to both bloggers and advertisers.  I signed up to it recently and submitted my blog for approval.  Luckily, my blog was approved.  If you will ask me what will i benefit as a blogger from signing up with SocialSpark?   My answer is, a lot and a lot, lot more. I signed up in socialspark as missbodybeautiful. Upon my blog's approval, i immediately received friends requests from an advertiser and from fellow bloggers. I updated myself on their profiles and one profile i came to like is that of makinthe bacononline.blogspot.com. This tackles on techniques for making money online, and i think this is just right for me.

It is so easy to sign up with social spark.  Just log to its website at www.socialspark.com. A Pre-Birthday Gift

Working hard is like prayers, according to the Regional Director who conferred the promotional appointment to seven of us at the provincial office.  Yes, you read it right. I was promoted in my job again after two years.  Hard work is paying off for me.  Like prayers, if one prays hard and does good works according to our RD, prayers are answered.  If one works hard, the supervisors will notice it and would give the promotion.  What a nice pre-birthday gift for me!

I don't know if i will get another promotion in the next year or more, as the next promotional level is for provincial directorship already.  I will need to take and pass the  exam in the Civil Service to qualify for the next promotion.  This one is quiet tough, i dont think i am ready to take it yet.  Maybe after i graduate in my masteral studies this October.  Well, one at a time only.  According to the Bible, for each there is a time, and a season.  I will just work hard and time will do its part.

Frontier Movie, A Would-Be Top Rated Horror Movie

Leisure time for a working mother like me is quality time with the family.  We go on vacation trips but most of the times this could be so costly.  But for sure, for whatever it costs it is always worth it when i see the gleaming faces of my children whenever i would announce a family get away. Another leisure time we normally spend with is watching movies at home.  We are altogether fans of horror movies. I like it when the horror novels i read are transformed into movies.  We would watch movies on rented DVDs or from our own DVD collection.  Most of my movie collections are horror movies.  The 5 top most horror movies we have viewed so far are The Mummy 1 and 2, The Jaws, House of Wax, Resident Evil and the Grudge.  I am showing below a movie poster for the House of Wax.

I am looking forward to another top most movie soon to open in  select theater listings and this is the movie Frontier.  Pretty sure, this would be a top horror movie of the year. I wish we could view it over wide screen theaters on May 9 but we just can't. I will try to buy a DVD then on this movie Frontier, which are to be out on May 13.  This would be a great pre-birthday treat for me.

My First Love

Music has always been my first love.  Mother used to tell me that i was a darling of the neighborhood way back when i was a kid.  When i was told to sing and dance, i would do so without much fuss.  I have a blind uncle who is so talented in singing. He is excellent likewise in playing different kinds of music instruments despite his handicap.  As a kid, I was always with my uncle singing as he strum the guitar.  In my elementary years, i joined and won in several singing contests.  I like the songs of Whitney Houston, Bette Meddler and local singers like Regine Velasquez.  At our office, I am a member of the office choir and i belong to the sopranos.    I used to be a member of the church choir, too.

I believe in psychology theories that people who are music lovers  tend to remember book passages songs, numbers or everything when they are sung.  Amen to these all because basically i am such. Until now, i am still a music lover.  My collections also include CDs of my favorite songs and singers. Music is my first and would be my last love, too.

Web Design

I am excited because i finally found the website i was trying to look into which could help me a lot in my blog.  I am sure this would also be of big help to fellow bloggers out there.

The website i am referring to is www.stylishdesign.com.  This is a  Web design blog . Stylishdesign.com is a blog, which tutors the basics and intricacies about web designing and other stuff related to web design. On this blog a lot of information about search engine optimization, web directories, different tools/softwares, website templates and so on will be found.

Wow, this is all i need.  I can't wait to surf and learn a lot more.  Fellow bloggers, charge!

Mother's Worries

Something worries me lately.  My sons are into the basketball fad.  A friend of them calls over the house and i was wondering who their friend was.  When i answered the call, i learned that the 19-year old boy friend of my 13 and 12 year-old sons is a school drop-out and has only a 3rd year high school educational attainment.  Gosh, i am composed  but i am worried that my sons might be having a bad influence friend.  I would appear bad to my sons if i tell them to stay away from this friend.  Lately, i knew that the boy is a suitor of my daughter whom my daughter turned down.  Its hard to be a mother to growing up adolescents especially the boys.  I should always be on watch over them, always.

Online Degrees in Business Management, Sales and Marketing

I have been working for almost 17 years in the government and i often hear my officemates say that if they only have an assurance that they could effectively manage a business, they would retire and go into business.  Why, government service is not a lucrative employment.  It is going into business where money making opportunities is a great possibility.  Plus, all the time in the world is one's own, unlike in the government service where one does not own his own time.  Time management will all depend upon the individual businessman.

But, i figure that venturing into business is not a suicide.  This will take a toll on the lives and properties of the one who is taking the risks in investing his own blood money.  Proper education and experience is necessary before taking the big leap to business.

Speaking of education here is a good news for professionals, students, and would be-businessmen who would want to go into business.  A degree in Business Management , Sales and Marketing can now be obtained online.  No more daily reporting to school, taking the buses and waking up early to avoid being late.  How to do it?  Simply visit http://www.kaplanopenlearning.org.uk and there is a guide on how to obtain the desired  Business Degree Online. Aside from the cited courses above, Kaplan also offers a degree on Entrepreneurship and Internet Marketing.

I would surely update my officemates about this. This is a good opportunity for them that i would really recommend.

Computer Bog Down

Now i realize it is really hard to be without a computer.  My office computer booged down just when i need it most.  There are still a lot of preparations, which need the easy facilitation of computer.  Oh, i will be damned. I can't believe a 6-month old computer can bog down that fast.  The motherboard according to the computer store technnician, when the cpu was returned to the store where it was bought,  needs to be replaced and the fastest is after one week because it has still to be shipped from manila.  Anyway, i have been requesting other offices in the lgu for the use of their computers.  I am glad that they are not so busy right now because the people will be busy for their fiesta celebration.  My staff will be staying before the ir computer in the meantime for the hand-outs encoding.

Frontier-A Must See Movie

Unknown

I watched the trailer of the Movie Frontier(s) at www.frontiersunrated.com. I viewed it alone in the house last night and my gosh, the opening salvo was so fantastic!  The movie trailer alone is so scary that viewing it alone here at night really sends me goosebumps.  It is unrated and uncut in selected theaters. I am triggered because it is first time for me to hear such an unrated movie.  No doubt it is dubbed as a controversial one.

Watching scary, horror movies is my turf.  I enjoy watching them especially in big screens. There is a whole lot of difference in viewing horror movies from a big screen in theaters than in home screens.  But, i still love to watch movies in my home screen through DVDs.  I watch movies almost three times.  For this movie Frontier, i regret that i don't live in the US.  It is showing in theaters starting May 9.  But, i cheer up because i can own my own DVD for movie Frontier unrated and cut.  It will be available on May 13 already.  Anyway, for those who would want to view this movie over widescreen, check it out in select theater listings.  See, which one is closest to you and if you would go check out the movie or not.

For me here, i will grab the original DVD of this Frontier movie and i will watch it at home together with my children who are themselves fanatics of horror movies.  I am sure they would like this one, and i am pretty sure we would view this movie over and over again.

This movie Frontier(s) is really worth viewing.  It is receiving remarkable and fantastic reviews.  I am sure this would be an award winning scary movie of the year.

Bed Bugs Effective Remedy

Bed bugs? Oh, i spite them and any blood sucker insects.

Bed bugs are essentially little bugs that are nocturnal and feed off human blood. They could bite a person and suck blood for 5 minutes and until they are full. My sister rented a house before that is infested with bed bugs. Her husband believed in the goat as a traditional method of getting rid of bed bugs.  The goat is tied near the house and the smell of the goat drives the bed bugs away.  I am pretty sure it worked because the bed bugs were soon eliminated.

But, tying a goat is ridiculous nowadays, especially if you live in the urban area.  If u detect bed bugs infestation, here is a web site about exterminating bedbugs. This would perfectly eliminate bedbugs away. Try it by clicking www.bedbugsguide.com.

House and Lot Loan

My house and lot is mortgaged with a government owned corporation named PAGIBIG in 1997. I obtained a loan from this office 10 years ago to pay the whole amount to the developer. Since then, i have been paying the monthly amortization through automatic deduction from my salary, which is quiet substantial. I still have 15 years to pay since the term of payment is 25 years. The last 10 years have shaken my budget, and will continue to be shaking for the next 15 years more.

The Government Service Insurance System offers this Consolidated Loan. I have computed, if i avail of this loan, a loanable amount of a substantial amount, too.I plan to file a loan with GSIS and pay it to PAGIBIG to lower my monthly amortization. All are still plans as i still have to compute on whether i am being efficient on this or not. I want to get rid of my housing loan as 15 years seems like an eternity for me. At least, at GSIS, if i could avail of the Consolidated Loan, i will only have to pay for 5 years. Well, i will analyze and see what i can do with this. This is an assignment i assign to myself.Deadline? Soonest.

Busy Days Ahead

Busy days ahead awaits for me this week. I am conducting a training for the elected Sangguniang Kabataan officials of my assigned town. It will be held on May 10-12 at the Tolosa DZR Memorial Elementary School. The preparations for the undertaking have been started only last week and there are still a lot of things to do. The training hand-outs have still to be prepared and this is a problem because the computer in the office bogged down. I thought the computer has a brain and memory but it didn't sense and memorize that i badly need it these days. Anyway, the show must go on and there are still a lot of days left for my staff to encode the hand-outs. I am glad i did not accede with the SK officials bid for me to hold the training in Cebu. What a huge responsibility could i get if i did! I could be killed by a parent if their child gets lost while in Cebu.

7 Green Gifts for Mothers Day

This coming May 11 is Mother's Day. Of course, all the day is Mother's Day for me because until now she still guides me through all my life's affairs including that of my children. I am very grateful to her for all the things she had taught me. I will not be what i am now, had it not been for her unconditional love. So, come this very special day of recognition for mothers, i know that there is no expensive gift in this world that will make her happy, except to see me and my other siblings happily settled in life, but i will give her just the same a gift showing my unconditional love towards her, too. My favorite color is green and so with mother,so i will give her a green gift, where green means not literally the color green but the usability and practicality of the gift i will give her from any of the following seven gift choices:
1. Dress
2. Bag
3. Wallet
4. Emerald Green Ring
5. Ornamental Plant
6. Vase
7. Pair of Sandals

Mother will surely be happy to receive my gift and i will give a party to mother exclusive to family members.

I Noticed That. . .

Lately, i have noticed that my paid posts are automatically approved by PPP. Thank you, PPP. You just don't know the motivation you give me with your automatic approval of my posts. You are building in me more confidence and you are propelling me to greater heights of achievement, mentally and financially. My hats off, PPP!

Cheap Phone Cards

Having to live apart from loved ones, families and friends whether temporary or permanent is psychologically and physically difficult. I experienced being away from my family for straight six months for a training in the Luzon Island of this country. I thought i would get sick as i was crying every day. I could not concentrate on my studies, it affected my performance as i did not bother to study at all. Almost everyday i wanted to quit the training and go home. It was just good that communications through telephones and cellphones were already available. After our session at the end of the day, we were already allowed to use them. I buy phone card and i get to call my family back home. Phone cards were expensive then and there was a problem with buying as the trainng center was far from commercial stores. We sacrifice walking up to the downtown area because we need to. Oh, im being nostalgic. Let bygones be bygones. It would not happen anymore now as there is an online store at www.therichcom.com that sells cheap prepaid phone cards. It is a great tool to keep in touch with loved ones in a cheap and efficient way. Thericom.com makes the buying and choosing of prepaid phone card easier for customers. They sell prepaid phone cards to call international destinations ranging from Asia to Middle East and Europe. It is very easy to avail of their services, simply access their web site to search for best phone cards to call from United States to virtually anywhere in the world with much cheaper rates than from other known large companies. Because calling per time is cheaper, talking to families and friends can be done for a longer period of time, and exchange of pleasantries is to the maximum.

Dancing Blues

I had last danced in a public performance when i was in the elementary. The recent was last night when i danced tango in the municipal government of Tolosa's sponsored nightly presentation for the forthcoming fiesta on May 8. The show was held at the municipal stage with a lot of spectators. The show went fine, the performance was superb. The daily practices paid off. I had only a couple of seconds worry when while dancing the heel of my shoe got entangled in the hem of my gown. I managed to gracefully disentangled it like as if nothing happened. After the show a few asked about it. Whew, i almost made face but thanks God i was spared from that hitch.

Flores De Mayo in the Philippines

The month of May is a very festive month for me. Not because it is my birthday month but because the Santacruzan Flores De Mayo is here again. If you are asking me about the essence of this celebration, here it is.

Flores de Mayo means Flowers of May. It refers to the whole Flower Festival celebrated in the month of May in honor of the Virgin Mary. It is one of the most colorful May-time festivals in the Philippines which depicts the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena, mother of Constantine the Great. The festivity commemorates the search of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena (Reina Elena) and her son, the newly converted emperor Constantine. After the Holy Cross was found in Jerusalem and brought back to rome, there was a joyful celebration for thanksgiving.

Nine days of prayer (a novena) in honor of the Holy Cross precedes the Flores de Mayo or Santacruzan. This festival was introduced by the Spaniards in the Philippines and has since become part of Filipino traditions identified with youth, love and romance.

This colorful pageant parade is arranged in this order:

1. Methuselah - he is bearded, bent with age, riding a cart looking preoccupied with toasting some grains of sand in a pan over a fire. This is a reminder that all that glitters will end up as dust like what he
is toasting.

2. Reyna Banderada - a young lady dressed in a long red gown carrying a yellow triangular flag. She represents the coming of Christianity.

3. Aetas - represent the state of the country before the coming of Christianity. These are the unconverted Filipino pagans.

4. Reyna Mora - represents the dominant religion before Christianity (feminine of Moro from the Moslem religion).

5. Reyna Fe - symbolizes the virtue of faith - the first of the theological virtues. She carries a cross.

6. Reyna Esperanza - symbolizes the virtue of hope - the second theological virtue. She carries an anchor.

7. Reyna Caridad - symbolizes the virtue of charity - the third theological virtue. She carries a red heart.

8. Reyna Abogada - the defender of the poor and the oppressed. She wears a black graduation cap (toga) and gown and she carries a big book.

9. Reyna Sentenciada - has her slim hands bound by a rope. She is the symbol of the innocents who have been convicted. She is accompanied by two Roman soldiers.

10. Reyna Justicia - a personification of the "mirror of justice". She carries a weighing scale and a sword.

11. Reyna Judith - representing Judith of Pethulia who saved her city from the Assyrians after she beheaded the cruel holoferns. She carries the head of the beheaded man on one hand and a sword on the other.

12. Reyna Sheba - who visited the famed King Solomon and was overwhelmed by his wisdom, power and richess. She carries a jewelry box.

13. Reyna Esther - the biblical Jewish who spared her countrymen from death and destruction through timely intervention with the King Xerxes. She carries a scepter.

14. Samaritana - the woman who Christ spoke to at the well. She carries a jug on her shoulder.

15. Veronica - the woman who wiped the face of Jesus. She carries a bandana imprinted with the three faces of Jesus.

16. Tres Marias: Mary of Magdala - she carries a bottle of perfume; Mary, Mother of Christ - she carries a handkerchief; Mary, mother of James - she carries a bottle of oil.

17. Marian - celebrating the many titles of the Virgin Mary.

a. A-v-e--M-a-r-i-a -- represented by eight (8) girls all Wearing long white dressess with wings to make them look like angels. Each one carries a letter to complete the word "AVE MARIA."

b. Divina pastora (Divine Shepherdess) - she carries a shepherdess' staff.

c. Reyna de las Estrellas (Queen of Stars) - she carries a wand with a star.

d. Rosa Mystica - she carries a bouquet of roses.

e. Reyna Paz (queen of peace) - she carries the symbol of peace.f. Reyna de las Propetas - she carries a hour glass.

g. Reyna del Cielo (Queen of Heaven) she carries a flower. She has two (2) angels.

h. Reyna de las Virgines - she carries a rosary and is surrounded by two (2) little angels.

Kamagra, A Good News to Men

Science is really a never ending quest for inventions and medications. There is one medicine that was initially created to treat cardiovascular problems and was proven also lately to be effective in treating erectile dysfunction problems. This medicine is named Kamagra and is available at www.galvala.com. To men, who are diagnosed to have erectile dysfunction, you can  buy kamagra, but be sure to consult your physician first, for your own protection.

Mother's Wish

Basketball is the game my sons come to love recently. I was wondering since yesterday why my sons are out together. Every morning as i leave the house for office, they would ask an allowance. My elder son is taking summer classes in organ lessons and the younger accompanies his brother to school. After the organ lessons, i learned that they go to the city plaza and play basketball. How time flies. It seemed like yesterday when my sons were just babies. Now, i am left alone in the house and we would only gather during mealtimes. I remember my father said when he was still alive, nourishh and bond with your children while they are still young, because when they grow up, they would find associations with others. He was right. Well, i just pray that they would grow up respectful and be able to find a good job. And i also pray that they will not be hooked in vices that would shatter their future.

Mailboxes and Address Plaques

In subdivision houses like what i have, mailboxes and  address plaques are very necessary. Address plaques helps locate the house very easily.  Mailboxes allows mails to be delivered right at the homes where there is nobody to personally receive mails , notices and other communications.  Speaking of mail plaques and mailboxes, we can find  a variety of it and other home decors at www.mailboxandbeyond.com. I have find my choices, already.  How about you?

Stomach Ache

I had stomach ache this early morning. My stomach was seering in pain. I had a diarrhea because of the food i ate last night. I figured it was the squid and i had indigestion. Thanks i felt better now. I was so worried i was just "praying over" my stomache as i put on some liniment after i came bath from my visit to the comfort room. Glad that i was relieved till i sleep. Thanks God.

My Night to Shine

This coming May 3 i will be joining the local government unit sponsored night in conjunction with the upcoming May 8 fiesta of Tolosa. Department heads are required to sing in the finale. I will be singing, then. A tango dance presentation will also be featured, and i was "volunteered" to join. There will be 3 pairs of us to dance it. My gosh, i can't imagine dancing in public. Anyway, like a good soldier, "obey first before you complain" applies here. I scouted for my dress already, quiet seductive but it looks good. Tomorrow, i will try to scout for my ballroom shoes, maybe in thrift stores, but i will choose the sturdy pair. Wish me luck for May 3! It would be my shining moments, hehe.

Air Purifiers

Whenever i ride in public utility vehicles, it is always my dilemma to be with co-passengers who can't avoid smoking inside the PUJ.  I can't avoid, too to be irritated and i can't avoid to call their attention.  When they put off their cigarettes, it takes time until the smell of cigarettes get totally eliminated.  Good, if the car owners will use ionic air purifier so the health of passengers like me, who are allergic to cigarette smells and other air pollutants, can be protected. I just wish that the legislators will soon pass a law requiring all public vehicles to own air purifiers.  For an advance information, an online site which can give them proper guidance is www.aircleanersguide.com.

Tolosa, Leyte-My Present Place of Assignment

This is exactly the building where my office is located. For seven months now, I have been assigned in the municipality of Tolosa, one of the 41 municipalities comprising the province of Leyte. It is a 45-minute drive from where i live in Tacloban City. It is known for the Olot Mansion House and Beach Resort with an Olympic size swimming pool. The mansion featured the Romualdez Mausoleum, which had the picturesque European architecture. This mansion house was then owned by Former First Lady Imelda Romuladez Marcos, the wife of the erstwhile President Ferdinand Marcos. After their ouster in power, the property was sequestered by the government. The beautiful beaches of Tolosa fronting the Pacific Ocean is a good place for snorkelling, scuba diving and wind surfing. Transportation is accessible in any parts of the 15 barangays that comprise the town of Tolosa. It is a good opportunity to be in this place. There is one spot i long to visit and it is the sea coral reefs along the Barangay Opong area. Maybe this month, i will treat my children for this exciting nature trip.

This is one of the beaches in Barangay Telegrafo.

TV Wall Brackets at www.dekomount.co.uk

My house is like one of the houses in a low cost housing subdivision. It is a two-storey building with only a limited space in the lower and upper decks. The lower deck provides the living space, the dining area, the kitchen and the restroom. At the living space, the sala set is located facing the television set and other home appliances. A lot of space in the sala is consumed by the divider that houses the television set and other home appliances, leaving us only a very limited space to move through. I have seen in houses, hotels and pension inns how they manage to save space by fixing their tv and other appliances along the wall. Sounds a good idea to me, but i never bothered to do it at home for lack of any idea what materials to use, until i browse through www.dekomount.co.uk. Ordering TV Wall Bracket is never a hassle  because they value customer convenience.  With their easy to use online system, ordering the universally adaptive Plasma and LCD screen wall-mount brackets takes only a few minutes.  Their products passed through stringent quality control standards, ensuring that only the finest, safest and most universally compliant merchandise carries the dekomount name. As i am writing this, i am excited already because for sure i will have a facelift of my sala very soon.
